Helps establish organizational direction, secure resources, and provide fiduciary and strategic oversight. Does this by attending all board meetings, events and all annual meetings; serving as a resource of knowledge to others on the board; taking on special assignments; seeking/providing financial donations; advocating for the organization.

We are seeking a board member who has an interest in ensuring healthcare access for all patients battling cancer, and helping us further our goals through innovative strategic planning.  

We are seeking new board members with an interest in community-based organizations, early childhood education, and youth enrichment services.

The board secretary provides the board with required meeting notices, prepares agendas and provides guidance on proper meeting procedures. The board secretary takes minutes of the board meetings, or oversees the process and reviews and distributes approved minutes. The secretary maintains or oversees the maintenance of all board records and committee reports.

The board treasurer oversees the finances of the organization and serves as chair of the organization’s finance committee if there is one. The treasurer utilizes an accounting and finance background in overseeing the preparation of all regular weekly, monthly and annual financial reporting, including the preparation of annual tax documents.

The volunteer/outreach committee member helps the organization implement recruitment and retention programs aimed at increasing the number of volunteers and others engaged in the organization.

The board member responsible for volunteers and outreach is as important to the organization as its fundraising board leadership and personnel. This board member will advocate for the volunteer, and will help create policies and procedures that help engage volunteers to their highest levels of contribution.
