3 year term. Officers are elected at the Annual Meeting held in late October. The Board calendar year therefore begins November 1 through October 31 of the following year. Members explore the Committees and decide which is of greater interest.

We are interested in Board members who will bring a variety of expertise to the organization including: Expertise in a field of identified need for WalkBoston, such as business or nonprofit management, planning/transportation, finance, fundraising, public health and community organizing. Helps establish organizational direction, secure resources, and provide fiduciary and strategic oversight. Does this by attending all board meetings, events and all annual meetings; serving as a resource of knowledge to others on the board; taking on special assignments; seeking/providing financial donations; advocating for the organization.

We are seeking new board members with an interest in community-based organizations, early childhood education, and youth enrichment services.
