Board Member – HR
|African Cultural Services, also known as Africano Waltham, is seeking new board members who share our passion for helping African youth succeed in school and in life. We are looking for a broad range of skills and experience to help our organization continue to grow. Our small, friendly, hands-on board is a great way to roll up your sleeves and make a real impact serving local youth and families in need.
|We are looking for board members with a variety of skills and expertise who are interested in furthering our mission to uplift African immigrant youth and their families. Some of the areas that would be especially beneficial to us are:
|Coaching, Human Resources*
|2nd Wednesday of the month
|1 to 3 hours/month
|We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
|New board members will meet with the Executive Director and other board members to gain an understanding of the organization, its mission and goals. Board members are invited to stop by the Center in downtown Waltham to see our operations, and attend local performances and events when feasible. This will help you to get to know our wonderful community.
To use a holistic approach to lift African immigrant youth and their families to succeed in life through provision of a safe space, educational and mental assistance, visual and performing arts, and cultural connections.
