Our board | The Friends of the Hernández (FOH) supports and advocates for the Rafael Hernández K-8 Dual Language Immersion School and the surrounding community. In collaboration with school staff, families, and partners, the organization contributes to the cultural fabric of our neighborhood and increases access to high-quality after school programming as well as the arts and dual language education. |

Position | This board member will support the Director in establishing HR best practices for our small organization. The Director oversees 20 part time staff as well as 4 AmeriCorps members. They will research and suggest workplace policies and support in the hiring process. We encourage bilingual, bicultural, and POC candidates. |

On-boarding | Meet with one or more board members, as well as the Director, to learn about board involvement. New board members will be presented with an onboarding packet with materials on expectations, FOH history and financials, and strategic goals. |
