| Our board | The Friends of the Hernández (FOH) supports and advocates for the Rafael Hernández K-8 Dual Language Immersion School and the surrounding community. In collaboration with school staff, families, and partners, the organization contributes to the cultural fabric of our neighborhood and increases access to high-quality after school programming as well as the arts and dual language education. |

| Position | This board member must be sufficiently familiar with legal documents and processes for non-profit organizations (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.). They will assist FOH in legal matters, working closely our executive director to identify any legal risks and provide legal advise. We strongly encourage bilingual, bicultural, and POC candidates. |

| On-boarding | Meet with one or more board members, as well as the Director, to learn about board involvement. New board members will be presented with an onboarding packet with materials on expectations, FOH history and financials, and strategic goals. |
