Our board The REACH Board of Directors is an engaged and committed group of community members who not only fulfill the fiduciary and legal requirements of board service, they also act as ambassadors for the organization. Directors are expected to participate in carrying out the mission of REACH. They agree to attend directors' meetings and provide leadership for at least one board committee, contribute funds for annual operations and any special programs, engage others in the organization's work, and overall support REACH in achieving its strategic goals.
Position REACH's Development Committee welcomes non-board members. This Committee is responsible  for providing assistance and oversight to REACH's Director of Development to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the organization's fundraising efforts, including our annual gala.

Specific duties and responsibilities - in partnership with the Director of Development:

  • Review, evaluate and provide general oversight of the organization's fundraising efforts.

  • Develop and make recommendations for adoption by the Board of an annual plan for development consistent with the organization's strategic plan.

  • Participate in the development and implementation of new and existing fundraising strategies and projects.

When Board meetings are currently monthly (fourth Monday). Plans to shift to alternating months.
Where Currently on zoom; moving toward returning to in person meetings or hybrid. Meetings located at Waltham office.
Commitment 3 to 5 hours/month
Donation Organization strives for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.

On-boarding REACH offers training for all new staff and volunteers - Board members are expected to participate within their term.
Senior team members provide initial orientation and education regarding organization structure, mission, funding and regulations.
Additional Info A Development Committee member does not have to serve on the Board. Meetings for the Development Committee would be set based on the availability of the members.
