Position Medical Advisory Committee:

Mandate:

The Medical Advisory Committee's purpose is to enhance Housing Families' programming with medically informed services and to form partnerships with local medical institutions and providers. The Committee is a space in which medical professionals and Housing Families can come together to discuss the unique clinical needs of the population we serve and how we can provide them with culturally competent care.

The Committee focuses are:

  • Identifying key components of health and barriers to care that families face.

  • Providing competent care to the families and individuals Housing Families serves.


Responsibilities:

  • Share expertise and advice to enhance Housing Families' programming with medically informed services.

  • Assist Housing Families in forming partnerships with local medical institutions and providers.

  • Evaluate the unique clinical needs of the community Housing Families’ serves and establish best practices on providing personalized, culturally competent care.

Commitment 1 to 3 hours/month
Donation Organization requires a specific amount of “give or get” for all board members.
Requirements
On-boarding New Committee members will take part in a personalized onboarding program.
Additional Info Committee members should be one or all of the following:

  • Medical professionals in the fields of pediatrics, psychiatry, social work, and community health.

  • Individuals seeking to have direct impact on vulnerable populations in the Boston area.

  • Self-starters interested in shaping the future of medical care at Housing Families.

  •  Members of medical institutions and providers interested in collaboration with Housing Families.
Our mission

Housing Families works to end family homelessness. We provide safe, temporary shelter and quality affordable housing to homeless and at-risk families. We offer individualized supportive services to enrich children’s lives, nurture the potential of each family member, and help families maintain permanent housing.
