Position Property Development Committee

Mandate:

The Property Development Committee coordinates the board’s strategic real estate interests and provides guidance for efficient property management of all units in the Housing Families and the real estate entities portfolio.
Desired skills
*required		 Business Development, Facilities, Project Management
Commitment 1 to 3 hours/month
Donation Organization requires a specific amount of “give or get” for all board members.
Requirements
On-boarding New Committee members will take part in a personalized onboarding program.
Additional Info Responsibilities:

  • Share expertise on affordable housing industry.

  • Provide guidance on Massachusetts housing laws, zoning mandates, and city and town guidelines.

  • Make recommendations regarding real estate decisions for Housing Families’ properties.

  • Help to identify new properties for Housing Families’ to own and rent.

  • Help to build relationships in the local real estate and development industry.

Housing Families works to end family homelessness. We provide safe, temporary shelter and quality affordable housing to homeless and at-risk families. We offer individualized supportive services to enrich children’s lives, nurture the potential of each family member, and help families maintain permanent housing.
