Board Member – Fundraising
| Our board | The board of Nurturing Minds, Inc. is committed to ensuring the sound management of organizational assets in the interest of achieving the organization’s mission to provide financial and technical support for quality secondary education to Tanzanian girls who are poor, marginalized, and at-risk of becoming involved in exploitative forms of child labor. |

| Position | The Nurturing Minds board of directors Development Committee supports the mission, goals, and programs of Nurturing Minds by creating a balanced, comprehensive plan (fundraising strategy, policy and long‐range goals consistent with the Strategic Plan) to raise the funds needed to realize the mission. The Committee will primarily focus its work on raising funds from individual donors by helping individual board members plan and implement their fundraising goals. Responsibilities include meeting with individual board members to review and assist them in their personal fundraising plans, researching and applying for non‐profit awards, providing support for individual major gifts research, cultivation, and solicitation, and creating, planning, and/or providing support for fundraising events. |

| Requirements | Become familiar with or is familiar with Tanzania and visit the SEGA Girls' School. Commit time to attend the annual board meetings (two 2-day-long meetings) and conference calls every 2 months, participate on a committee (e.g., communications, development, etc), fundraise by organizing events, soliciting donations, and networking, and seek to raise $10,000 per year through one’s network or personal contribution. |
