Board Member – Finance
|The Puerto Rican Festival of Massachusetts, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The Board of Directors consists of a broad cross-section of people from different domains, elected every four years by the general assembly of community members or appointed by the President as stipulated in the by-laws.
|Responsible for preparing the budget, ensuring the organization has viable business plans, keeping abreast with new developments in the nonprofit accounting laws and principles, making sure all staff members follow appropriate ethical standards when dealing with money issues.

|We strive for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions.
|Everyone who works with us, from our Board members to those who lend a helping hand during our parade, are unpaid volunteers. The source of their drive to volunteer is the passion they have for the community. We accept new volunteers on a regular basis and have a different set of volunteers serving with us at every event. Volunteers enjoy the privilege of attending an event for free, working alongside us, and free festival merchandise. It board positions serve 2-4 years; it requires to be Latino but does not have to speak Spanish. Must commit to 2 hrs per month for meetings and additional hours when we have events. The candidates will be interview by the board and they board will vote.
|We will request a vetting process and two recommendation letters. No fee to be part of the board
|Recording and categorizing expenses and preparing financial reports.
Analyzing financial data so they can recommend ways to help the organization run proficiently.
Conducting a risk analysis evaluation.
Taking care of tax returns and making sure they're paid on time. Our board has 14 members. Must be familiar with Quick Books
