Our board | The Board is responsible for developing the overall operating policies and providing guidance for Resolve New England (RNE). RNE is an independent non-profit organization, which serves the six New England states. RNE is separately incorporated and not directly affiliated with RESOLVE: the National Infertility Association. Directors have a fiduciary responsibility for Resolve New England, to ensure its long-term financial success and stability. The Board is actively involved in the continued development and implementation of programs and services consistent with our mission: to provide high quality education, advocacy, and support to all facing fertility and family building challenges. |

Position | We are looking for a committed Board Member to serve on Resolve New England’s (RNE) governing body. While day-to-day operations are led by RNE’s Executive Director (ED), the Board-ED relationship is a partnership, the active involvement of Board Members is both critical and expected. An RNE Board Member provides mission-based leadership and strategic governance to realize the RNE mission and acts as an ambassador for RNE in the community. Primary residence in one of the six New England states is preferred, but not required. |

Where | While RNE's Board is currently meeting virtually, in person meetings will resume in Waltham, MA once it is safe to do so. Directors, particularly those who live out-of-state, will be allowed to participate by teleconference or other virtual method, with the expectation that they will make best efforts to participate in person at least once per year. |

Donation | Organization strives for 100% board giving, but have no strict guidelines around financial contributions. |

Requirements | The Board ensures that the goals of the organization are met and protected; Directors are involved in planning the programming and marketing of RNE to consumers and professionals in the fertility community. The Board also helps to plan and publicize programming and develops and implements strategies to increase engagement with key stakeholders. Directors are expected to maintain an active presence and commit to an initial two (2) year term. |

On-boarding | New Director onboarding begins with the nomination process and an interview with RNE's Executive Director. Upon confirmation by Board vote, a new Director meets with a member of the Executive Committee to cover introductory materials and current initiatives before attending their first full Board meeting. |
